Against the strategic backdrop of deepening cooperation in the new energy industry between China and Indonesia, the PT LBM 120000 ton/year lithium iron phosphate cathode material production base (Phase II) project held a grand groundbreaking ceremony in Semarang, Indonesia. This milestone event marks the project's transition from the early piling stage to the comprehensive construction stage, becoming the world's largest lithium iron phosphate cathode material manufacturing base outside of China.
As the core outcome of LBM's globalization strategy, the PT LBM project has attracted much attention since its launch in 2021. The first phase of the 30000 ton lithium iron phosphate production line was completed and put into operation in 2024, and the first batch of products was shipped in January 2025, marking the first time that China's lithium iron phosphate technology has achieved large-scale production overseas.
